Raise awareness among the youth in the Islamic World on the achievements of the Islamic Civilization in the fields of science, engineering and innovation.
Have a better understanding of the vital role of scientific knowledge, engineering and technological innovation in the development of harmonious Islamic societies.
Identify possible programmes or activities that can be implemented by OIC countries and South-South co-operation.
Strengthen international co-operation via the sharing of scientific knowledge among scientists from OIC Countries.
  The highlight of the Symposium is a special presentation from Young Muslim Scientists that meet on 7-8 August 2007 which will be included in the symposium's recommendations.
Report recommendations on the way forward emphasize developing a thinking society, social harmony and economic progress. This report will be forwarded to UNESCO and the OIC Secretariat.
